Because of the latest security threat in London Heathrow and all of paranoid US, all major airlines right now (CO, UA, US and AA) are implementing heightened levels of security on all aviation operations. All US airports right now are involved and are causing traffic and delays in EVERYTHING.
Passengers were restricted from carrying ANYTHING LIQUID. Most airlines only allow baby formula, breast milk, or juice if a baby of small child is traveling; prescription medicine in the form of liquid with a name that matches the passenger’s ticket and/or insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines.
Because of Ramzi Yousef’s popularity as the man who had tried to bring down the World Trade Center in 1993 and the one who set the trend of making liquid bombs made out of nitroglycerin and put them in contact lens solution, the thought of ever bringing anything liquid is now discouraged. Because of him, a manual written in Arabic on how to make a liquid bomb must have found its way to dangerous hands by now.
Ooh. If I were traveling, would they sort out my makeup bag? My hair serum is liquid. My foundation is liquid. My eyeliner is liquid! Most of my lipsticks are liquid – not to mention my glosses! What the F! They can never take me away from my makeup bag. They are required to be checked in and I cannot part from my makeup because THAT is MY carry on.
And have they ever thought that bombers would probably think on another tactic of blowing up a plane besides stowing them in contact lens solution bottles? Even I would probably think that it is so last season.
Still nobody can help but be paranoid. Even Philippine airports are taking extra measures. Hmm.. if I know, they are just trying to join in the bandwagon because its uso.
