When my stylist friend Yves was commissioned to join the organizers of the Male Factor Fashion show, he immediately asked me to help the screening of 100 male models in the city at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino Teatro Casino. A few weeks before the actual show, I found myself seated with Maron Alcasid, Yves Camingue, Kristine Roa, Danny Booc, and Chyrel Gomez as the panel of judges who will screen the male models. Teatro Casino looked different on any other setting though especially when you are used to seeing it all glammed up. The staff were very accommodating though and understood that since we were going as people from the media they did not put those ugly stickers on your camera’s lenses. Would you really take photos of people immersed in their blackjack games ?

We curled our friend Joy’s hair. Gorgeous!
Fast forward to 4 hours later and I thought I have seen enough men in my lifetime. Whoever thought this was the best job in the world didn’t get to sit on my chair that day. Among the 100 (yes, told you!) men we screened, 30 lucky men were chosen to cast in Danny Booc’s fashion show which he produced under Ozar Productions. The guys were given gym memberships, loads of clothes and gift certificates from sponsors.
The Male Factor fashion show last March 29 was a huge success! I did expect a massive stage though but Teatro Casino is one of the intimate functions halls in Waterfront Hotel so the fashion show had no ramp and we, who were seated at the front, is actually within close proximity to the models – close enough to just poke their shirts! Hahah.

The designers who outfitted 30 male models were Danny Booc, Lord Maturan, Bernardo Flores, Edwin Alba. Some shots of us post-runway show:
I love Waterfront by the way. I don’t know anywhere else who has the best casino bonus in the city. The casino itself has a dresscode inside from no slippers to no sleeveless shirts for the men. Casual and stylish was key that night! My friend Joy just got back from her trip to SG looking all spring-y in her Zara’s and denims. Eden turned up in Yves Camingue and we were happy to have Prem Ananda with us! He is a hotshot photographer in the US who also took shots of Puey Quiñones collection. Search for him in Facebook: PREM PHOTO. Poster below is a photo from Ronald Icban. Now men in bikinis, casinos and fashion shows do not interest you yet?
Please keep posted for the runway show soon. Thank you to the sponsors and friends who supported the show! Mossimo is teaming up with an environmental cause here in Cebu and will also be holding a bikini meet/open at Waterfront Casino. Keep posted for that, too. Cheers to
men male fashion! Toodles!
