The setting was only 3 hours away by land and an hour away by water but nonetheless. I realized that cheap holiday deals like this, regardless if they are within a stone’s throw away from your comfort zone, should be celebrated, treasured and valued.
Going to Bantayan Island the week before the Holy Week madness was probably the best idea we had ever came up with in the history of our travelling life! The island was quiet, everything sold was still reasonably priced and practically almost all of the places were not crowded. We have travelled from Cebu to Bantayan before but this was the first time that we didn’t bring a car. At 6am in the morning, we hopped on the first Daanbantayan bus we could find at the North Bus Terminal and arrived at the terminal after 3 hours. Bus – P125 Barge – P150.
The resort’s shuttle service was out of commission that weekend so Hoyohoy Villas had a huge pedicab that can sit six asses to pick us up. Two minutes after, we were already at Hoyohoy Villas. Check out the resort!
Because of the extra sleeper in the room, you can actually house a total of 4 guests in 1 villa and that is already the maximum number of headcount the resort allows. Inside the room, you have a telephone, mini-bar, cable TV and *gasp* lush sheets! These would totally make for a best summer experience spent in luxury! Sorry to sound like a marketing ad copy.
The Villas are at 3,500 to P5,000 per night. Ask for the villa in the middle, left side. It was not far enough to the beach and main gate. The huge plus was the four-poster bed.
All romanctic nuances are forever summed up by these beds, amirite? I believe all villas at the resort have outdoor showers that exorcise the exhibitionist in you.
Ha. Everything else is first class treatment all the way from extra towels, daily refills of bathroom toiletries and oh, hello welcome drink!
Dining at Hoyohoy Villas – breakfast!
We had our lunch delivered near the beach front and the staff were quick enough to set up a lovely dining arrangement under an open gazebo. Soo gorgeous!
Overall rating: 5 Stars
You’d definitely get a recommendation to stay at Hoyohoy Villas from me. The place is just perfect and yes, I would want to get back there someday. The resort is only 5 minutes away from Sugar Beach itself and between having your own beachfront to going to where the crowd is — sometimes it would be nicer to revel in this peaceful state.
Thanks to Jen Rimaz and the staff of Hoyohoy Villas for the lovely reception.
