If you are one of those guys who go to Cebu annually because of Sinulog and well, between everything that the city has to offer, make sure Grand Prix Cebu is part of your lists to stay in Cebu. With reasonable rates plus prime location at the center of Cebu City, Grand Prix Cebu already tops our list!
The owner, Mr. John Kierulf of the chain of Grand Prix hotels all over the country and Victory Liner, is a huge fan of racing. Hence, the race flag logo at almost all of their properties.
Grand Prix practically lives up to its concept – fast, quick and reliable. You can make reservations through their website, by phone or email and confirmation will be sent in2 4 hours tops. Sinulog rates might jack up to 15% more than the usual published rates and a minimum of 3 nights is required to guarantee your reservation.
The check-in process is easy and someone is readily available to help you with your luggage. With 40 rooms total and 4 room types, you basically get the same room essentials:
Hot and cold shower
Wake up call
Transfers (upon request)
There is an extra P20 for additional pillows. The things that set apart the rest of the room category are the bed types (queen size for Junior Suite, etc), mini refrigerator, a safety deposit box, bathtubs, sofas and microwaves. Others are available upon request with additional fees. Our favorite part? The ultra fast WIFI!
The rooms are furnished with minimalist designs and light warm-hued walls that gives you instantly a homey vibe. Everything is clean and Joe D’Mango, the designer of the property made certain your stay is as comfortable and as safe as it is with their 24/7 security installed in all 4 floors. Room service is available for special requests but since Grand Prix does not have its own kitchen, you can always have Greenwich (one door away!) or any other fast food delivered right to your door.
Perhaps the room would be more comfortable if they installed carpets on their rooms and additional lighting but Grand Prix is constantly updating and renovating to accommodate all of their guests’ special requests.
The Loft Type Family Room
The econotel can be your go-to hotel when in Cebu especially when its located near Mango Avenue, one of Cebu’s nightlife institution, Fuente Osmena, and several restaurants and shops all over the Ramos street. I can just imagine how full the place will be come Sinulog – it has the BEST VIEW especially when you are at the primo spot of the street dancing. Ask for the corner rooms where they overlook the entire street of Mango and Ramos.
Grand Prix is also at Pasay, Cubao, Malate, Manila, Tarlac, and Boracay. Have you stayed in any Grand Prix property? Tell us how fun it was!
